The telecoms companies are not being allowed to buy the inputs from china. This is delaying 3G services. The companies are being forced to buy costly inputs from western countries.

It is okay to protect our own industrial units. But it makes no sense giving protection to western companies against cheap Chinese inputs. It seems that the Government at the centre is working as agent of western countries.

Hasn't that always been the policy of our govt??
There is no reason to pay extra money if the same things can be bought from China cheaply, but then there are pockets to be filled and people to be pleased!!!
Thanks Kalyani for understanding the issue. The Indian poor are helped by buying cheaper Chinese Goods. If these goods are harmful to Indian industry, it is okay to discourage the Chinese goods. But there appears no reason to stop buying cheap Chinese goods for sake of encouraging costly western goods.
