A classic case of " Mana Gana Jana."

Punjab Cabinet Minister Bikram Singh Majitiha unfurled the national flag upside down during a flag hoisting ceremony here on Independence Day.

When media asked about the “goof-up”, Majithia said it is the district administration which should answer how it has happened.

Passing the Buck... eh..,.

We all make mistakes so nothing much to discuss about. Every one present there was equally responsible.

Agree with you. To err is human. Admitting  mistake and Passing the Buck are altogether different.. The essence is " Admit your mistake is the trait of Humility.."

Evading the responsibility for commiting mistakes is right of politicians so it is but natural. Learnto live with that as nothing isgoing to change in near future.

I am an optimist. hence hoping for the best so that things will change, if not today, tomorrow.  Convincing with a reason that "It's the Politicians right" is nothing short of Self - Deceit.

Till the flag was unfuled, the minister would not be aware of the upside position. But he and everyone present would have noticed the position of flag after unfurling. The mistake could be corrected immediately and national anthem played only after correction.

Exactly sir. Not noticing and trying to pass the buck on others is the gravest mistake on the part of the minister.

In this case the Minister can not be blamed. The district officials should test raise the flag to see its correct position and then tie it up for being raised by the minister.

You mean the Minister should pose as if it's a normal thing. Even this is better. But he has thrown the blame on others. To correct a mistake everybody's responsibility.

Minister had come to raise the flag. At this rate a guest is responsible if host commits a faux pas. Mistake has to be corrected by those responsible.

If I go even  as a guest to some house and spot a mistake in the household, there is nothing wrong in pointing out the mistake to the owner of the house. Rather the Householder will be happy. It's my habit to pick the unwanted things and throw in the nearest Dust can on the road during my morning walk. It's a question of responsibility. Ministers are not exceptions.

Let's think the minister didnt notice but thousands of onlookers present there should have brought this to his notice. It only shows that most of us are not aware of the colors of our national flag.

Yatha Raja Thatha Praja. Like the leaders people also might not have noticed the inverted flag. Or it may be that they thought, If our minister did not say anything why on earth i should notice and rectify and become a center of controversy?

I think we all have now become habitual of making a big issue of some things. Unless and until the minister unfurled a flag, how is he supposed to know whether it has been positioned correctly? So is it fair to blame the person who unfurled it? Isn't it the duty of the other concerned, usually civil or administrative service officers, as the case maybe, to ensure that the flag is positioned correctly?

That and the fact ministers stands in a position at such occasions which does not allow him to look at lag once its unhurled.

No doubt we can give a pat  to the ever vigilant media which had its cameras away with a good view as the flag was unhurled ...other than that it not a big issue really no matter which politician was involved .

responsibility is the main thing. Even if the ministers and the other concerned officials fail to notice the upturned flag, a responsible onlooker in the gathered crowd comes forward and points out the mistake. If the onlookers too irresponsible with an attitude Who cares, then the picture will be different.

Thank you so much for accepting the fact that we are all responsible for such mistakes. The thread is locked now.
