I.K. Gujaral, Ex P.M. has in his memoirs affirmed that Left had ditched hopes of Sonia Gandhi in her Prime ministerial ambitions. He has also revealed many first hand experiences.

Frankly I have not much respect for this rank opportunist and if my memory serves me right I read somewhere that he was the brain behind installing Rabri Devi as Chief Minister of Bihar and what happened thereafter is public knowledge!!!

I agree. I.K. Gujaral is not trustworthy. He had also no backing of people. He became Prime Minister only because of compromise.
