Adding sugar or jaggery to spicy dishes is a practice that is there in our parts too..In fact even when a sweet dish is prepared we add a small pinch of salt which is supposed to enhance the taste of the dish..
Also a rasam with Pappad is made in mangalore which s quite tasty because the tanginess of the rasam goes very well with the crisp Pappad ..
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!
