Supreme Court today made it mandatory to play the national anthem and display the national flag before the movie in theatres. So does this make us more Indian? Does is not any better cases to take care?

Now SC has come with new judgement. We don't need to stand up for national anthem if it is played in between the movie like it was played in the climax scene of Dangal. I read it in today's newspaper and then suddenly realized that when I went to watch Jolly LLB 2 on Sunday, there was no national anthem played in the beginning or end of the movie.
Even we observed it in our childhood. This became questionable only when it was out of practice for some years and then came back. We had national anthem in the beginning and end of all public functions. Yes the same people in opposition are making a hue and cry over it. Though I don't think that patriotism can be forced, but if this has been a practice and it doesn't harm anyone, why politicized it. These people don't mind standing for other nations anthem but raise voice when it comes to our own national anthem.
So far I have never seen any objections by any audience in the theatres so far. They all show respect irrespective of their community
Yesterday many of the news channels had debates on the same subject ..while the panel led by the opposition was against the ruling party and the others were for singing national anthem . The argument was that people don't go to films everyday and to pay respect to the National anthem by standing is the least one can do given the fact that our soldiers are serving the nation without questioning.
And somewhere I don't understand how showing respect to national anthem of the country where we live can be taken as a forceful imposition of patriotism. I know that it might not be needed in a movie theater but just standing and showing respect for a minute does not harm anyone. Why so much of noise over it. When we go for a match we do stand for national anthems of both sides playing. No hungama is made then. Many a times these matches are played for charity and entertainment sake only and not for national interest
The issue is not as to should one stand for NA or not. Obviously one should. The problem is that the ruling dispensation is trying to link those who are with it with patriotism and others as non patriotic. Earlier when NA was played there was no linkage of patriotism and thus there as no objection.
The above video is a good watch. I received it on a social platform. Sadhguru has so beautifully explained in such a simple and clear words.
All sort of persons go to watch movies. There are corrupt, cheats, scoundrels etc who will stand up when national anthem is played. Does it make them patriotic? why are the bhaktas all the time in a patronising mode and busy thrusting their likes and dislikes on others. Somewhere they seem to be suffering from lack of self confidence.

Absolutely true, you need to develop an emotional bond with the nation like your family , but the vote bank politicians don't want any of that because it unites the nation ..
Honestly speaking, do we all stand up while we are at home when national anthem is played on t.v? Most of us do not do so but that does not mean we are not patriots. Actually, such a discussion and trying to enforce a rule demean the importance of our national anthem. Any rule will have two or more opinions and debate is bound to take place, thus, national anthem becomes a part of friction which sends a wrong message within the country and across the world.

It is a question of respecting the National Anthem in public places and during National days . I feel the whole debate and stress on patriotism has cone about because of the manner in which certain politicians have indulged in minority appeasement , even going to the extent of backing radicals and terror groups. So , people feel that patriotism has taken a back seat and needs to be stressed upon !!!!
