I guess the results have been discussed to a great extent by the media in their exit polls and they are as predicted with Jayalalitha winning for a second time in Tamilnadu , Mamata Banerjee's TMC winning with an even higher number seats. Left party winning in Kerala and BJP in Assam..

Some interesting facts here , Congress party has lost badly in all the states except in Puducheri where its alliance with DMK has won. Congress was against the left in Kerala and with the left party in WB which in itself shows opportunism of the worst kind and understandably it was rejected in both the states . For BJP which has made inroads in West Bengal and Kerala in a small way, it is still a marginal win having won Assam with absolute majority ..

BJP party won in Assam and it is the correct time to express their ability they can do to show other state where they haven't won

Sir, as one living in Tamil Nadu, I can dare say that the most corrupted and most dirty party of India --- the AIADMK has won through the most corrupt means possible.  Jayalalitha will beat anyone in India, on corruption.  She is the worst leader of Tamil Nadu, which has now been spoiled for the last five years.  Except distributing freebies, and talking big, and making her ministers prostrate before her, in the full glare of the media, she has done nothing.  The debt position of over four lakh crores, is something which is really daunting.

She has had the cheek to openly bribe millions of voters.  The amounts involved is said to be in excess of over 3000 crores.

At this rate, God save Tamil Nadu.  The DMK is a far better party.  Only those who are highly educated and know the actual situation --like in Chennai -- will understand the difference.  It was the DMK that brought IT to Tamil Nadu.  The successes in IT all happened only during the DMK regime.  It also brought in a huge number of auto ancillary industries and developed two hubs -- Sriperambadur and Oragadum, both of which are situated between forty to fifty kilometers from the heart of Chennai.

So, let us not celebrate the success of AIADMK, since Jayalalitha will never change.

I agree with you. It is a bribe when at government expense freebies are given.  In Delhi AAP is giving subsidised power to all citizens. Central govt is giving free gas cylinders. There always is a quid pro quid involved. One of the most disgusting photos to be seen is persons in all white dress prostrating before Jayalalitha.

I agree with Sivakumar.. AIDMK's corruption practices are well known. But so is TMC.. It's a dream to expect a Corruption free country. In this, no party including BJP is corruption free. May be less corruption in one party and more in another party. It's really disgusting  to see   prostrating before the queen of AIDMK party.

If voters are benefitted by corruption then it is OK but if individuals benefit then they should be punished.

However corrupt and autocratic Jayalalitha may seem to us, she has a great connect with the poorer section of the population. Last year when she had been released after Bangalore High court absolved her of many corruption cases , I was in KodaiKanal and people ere crying and dancing in the streets. Karunanidhi and his extended family however beat her hollow in corruption since each one of them seem to be involved in some corruption case or the other - a  case of pot calling the kettle black !

Yes. Corrupt practices of Political parties are a blotch on the face of Indian Democracy. Searching for  corruption free political parties are like chasing a mirage. May be an exception here and there. But they are so less and insignificant that they are washed away by the huge tidal waves of Corruption.

For a common man corruption is not a big issue since they have by now accepted it as a way of life . What matters to them is the immediate benefits they get to make their lives more comfortable. Jayalalitha has understood this fact very well, do she has reached out to people by giving cycles to school going children , sewing machine to housewives, opening Amma canteens where one can have a hearty meal for one fifth of the price  and so on.. she is a smart politician, who has been able to sail against the storm and yet stay afloat  and how !

I was reading somewhere that the freebies have made Tamils of that class into lazy persons who hardly work. Labor has to be imported from other states to fill the "Amma" created vacuum. After all one needs to earn only Rs 20 or thirty and then go to Amma centres for food at one or two rupees. All so that she continues in power. She is smart for herself not the state.

Our country has been thriving on many freebies for decades - free electricity for farmers, free water for lower income group, free sites for lower caste , even money for building houses for lower caste people, free mecca tour for muslims and so on,...so why single out Jayalalita ? she is doing the same thing in her state !

actually what happened now a day is that everyone wants to get the job done in short time and with less money. and whoever politicians does for them they started having the lighter side for them in their heart, and as a result they won in election and i think it is not bad because if something is happening for the poor people goodwill then it is not bad.
