We cannot go on shifting the blame from one to the other, all should take responsibility for their actions, only then can we have accountability and a semblance of discipline in our society. So far, everyone looked after only their immediate interests caring two hoots about the impact their actions would have - Hopefully with this case that would change and make all people especially tye celebrities who have much more responsibility since they have a larger than life personality , more responsible and sensitive ...

Absolutely. People and the celebrities should know their responsibilies towards the society. True. This case should act as an eye opener to all. Let's hope for the best.

Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Maggie all are equally harmful and have pesticides, lead/msg more than the permissible amounts. And celebs who endorse these prods are equally responsible just like the company. Although the actors are not health experts or dieticians...they are our icons...many people believe then when they endorse a prod. It is not only Maggie, coke etc but applicable for any prod. If they are doing these endorsements for money, they might as go behind the bars or become answerable to the court.

Exactlu Usha...the responsibility lies also with the consumers along with those who endorse it. Before buying a pack of Maggie or a bottle of coke, do we, as responsible citizens ever stop to think of how beneficial or harmful that product is? Or how damaging it is to our environment or health? Just because it provides us an easy way out of labouring for hours in the kitchen, we never give much thought to what is put into it. For many years now doctors and nutritionists have been telling us that these products are severely harmful, but we never thought much about it. Just because now certain samples have been found, we are making a huge hue and cry about it only now. So we too are to blame and we must also accept our responsibility!

Very true Kalyani, without consumers there is no market ...I compare it with films, when you have no choice you watch whatever is offered to you, probably even thinking it is a great movie since there is no yardstick to compare it and no one thinks of rejecting bad quality films ! The same goes with any other product, even food - what they give we embrace without thinking twice , so there is fault on both sides

People are gullible. They believe  because a particular product is endorsed by their favorite movie star it  must be good. It should not be forgotten that this very "Gullible " trait in the humans, the product  manufacturers world over are using and making truckloads of money. Nestle is not an exception.

Exactly Usha, that is what I meant. We see so many C grade movies making a business of more than 100 crores while films with good story and content goes flop on the box office. It is the taste of people that is to blame. We have been blessed with a country that is so full of natural resources. The kind of fruits and vegetables that are grown here are the best in terms of nutrition, taste and quality, everything. And what have we done? We have blindly followed the propaganda of foreign countries and destroyed our lands and original, authentic strains and switched over to GM  crops which are neither good in taste nor nutrition. We blindly follow the likes of Khans and Kapoors and watch substandard films, we blindly heap all kinds of praises on artists like Hussain who in his conceited and arrogant manner, has insulted our traditions and gods  again and again at least a 100 times and ignored the likes of Raja Ravi Verma, Trindad, Abalal Rehman, Chughtai and so many others for decades. Such can be said for many in other fields too. So instead of only blaming Maggie or Dixit or Bachchan , we need to do some serious instrospection about our own tastes or "Abhiruchi" as we call it in Hindi and Marathi.

True Kalyani. This is due to Herd mentality and lack of individuality. We the people think that a particular product is endorsed by a celebrity, it must be true. This should go away. Until then the manufacturers of unhealthy products will be the Uncrowned kings of the market.

Yes sir. People should wake up atleast at this stage. Without blindly following the celebrities, people must think individually before using any product (or) anything for that matter.

Of late many complaints are coming pertaining to the quality of the foods right from  edible oils to the vegetables we eat every day. Food colorants, are used to give an attractive look to lure the unsuspecting consumer. These additives are hazardous chemicals. In this scenario, it is highly essential to exercise utmost care. Because ultimately consumers are the sufferers

At last we are reaching towards the state where consumer protection is vital and when such brands even does not care for people who relished them for generations they only themselves to blame for this.

There are a plethora of consumer protection laws in vague. But sadly many are not aware of them. Consumerism should go deep in to the core of the society.

Three celebrities are in trouble now, and they would fight case in court of justice, it seems that all over India Maggie is now banned for month and Maggie also started withdrawing its product from everywhere.

CEO of Nestle spoke today. Amitabh had already said that he would fight in the courts.

it is a lesson learn for celebrities before accepting brand ambassador status for any product they endorse, as many people blindly follow celebrity advice and that creates problem. We are growing as a nation at last.

Now these Brand ambassadors too realized. Hope Maggie episode will act as an eye opener to both Brand ambassadors and and consumers.

Blindly promoting a product may cause a problem which is proved in this case and absolutely this whole episode may have opened the eyes of people.

As a nation we are a country that believes in the fact that, "Oh.. This product is ts made by a internationally reputed company. Without any hesitation one can treat it as a Healthy product."

This attitude of Blind Brand faith should go away.

Apparently , earlier in the sixties and seventies film stars promoted only beauty products and beauty soaps and probably modelled for dresses which was ok given the fact that they came from a glamorous background. But even there , with animal activists crying foul about cosmetics tested on animals one needs to be careful. But now the celebrities leave no stone unturned in their greed to make more money, they take all without a thought ...hopefully things would change in the future and they will be careful before taking up any endorsement in a hurry and so would be the companies...

According to Times of India of today, Nestle India spent over 400 cores on celebrity endorsements and spent only 19 cores for testing security of its product related with health conditions.
