This is all because they want to remain active on facebook. They want to show that they use facebook regularly..... Even my brother do this.

A herd mentality.There are people in my knowledge who cannot spell Face Book and cannot write a single sentence without grammatical mistakes.

Very true ! and now with the tracking facility since your mobile gets connected to FB, your profile updates your movements as well ! So and so is at Hotel Taj or is in the Mumbai airport and so on...I hate this invasion on privacy !

Majority of youngsters are spending their precious time on FB from dawn to dusk, just clicking on "Likes" and posting all kinds of nonsense in the Status. For me, FB has no value. It is just waste of time. The best way to propagate business profile is the advertisements and marketing sites. There are number of social sites which can publish our advertise and bring us profits and goodwill.

Here I would disagree! Closure of FB won't lead to any such thing, rather more such platforms would come to fill in the void. I personally believe that how one leverages this technological marvel is far more important than any thing else. My personal experience is that it won't have been possible for me to set up very productive relationships with some friends who are in all parts of the world and they are all real ones!!!

What you say is indeed true and cannot be disputed, but from my point of view, the kind of time young people are putting into such sites, it seems sheer wastage of talent and brains into fruitless endeavors. Do you know the number of youngsters who are connected on FB, whatsapp, etc. etc. ?? The number is quite astounding, and at an age, when they could be doing something better, like learning something useful such studying or being more productive etc. they are wasting time posting updates and clicking Like on useless photos and posts! But you are right, if it goes, there are more similar waiting to take its place! :blink:

Uses,abuses,misuses are all parts of any new development. It has indeed opened up new vistas of knowledge. For instance the other day one of my young friends was seeking information on decorative fish farming of which I knew not even iota and asked him to join the aqua farming group of FB. I met him yesterday to receive thanks from him!!
