There lies the specialty of Google. In India's home page they doodle with Indian special occasions. In Japan's home page they doodle with their special occasions. That's why it has become so popular.

The search giant Google celebrated India’s independence day with a doodle. We can see Google’s home page adorned with the Tricolour in the form of a ribbon that flows around the Google Logo.
