The drink's chemical ingredients do a similar job to gastric acid, by helping to digest fibre
The bubbles also help speed up the process

So should we start consuming more of these?
All soft drinks are acidic in nature. It may help in digestion but I didn't knew its used by doctors also.
I hope there are no side effects.
We should not use cola drinks for any purpose even if doctors are misusing it. If you use cola drinks to clean your toilet seat it would work better than Harpik the toilet cleaner perhaps.

I too heard about this but with so many things going against the aerated drinks one wouldnt want to consume it on a daily basis. However, I love coca cola and love to drink a glass of it once in a while, inspite of all the allegations

Indeed Coco cola invented for stomach pain in USA. But I don't like any aerated water too much. Lime water and sugarcan juice is better than it.
Ideally there are lot of side effects of such drinks. It can actually cause bladder cancer. Do not use it often.
Long long ago the destructive qualities of Coke and other such drinks were revealed. Younger generation patronized these drinks. They think holding a coke bottle in hand is a fashion statement.
Some time it helps to digest but too much is bad. Children are more addicted to it.
Even in such case it is preferred to use a colorless drinks. All the coloured drinks contain aniline dyes which is not good.
All drinks used some preservative which is not good for health.
This is not a preservative. It is a dye used just to give colour. In addition it also contains preservative

Ya thats true. They believe that is a style.
The main ingredient of Cocoa cola is phosphoric acid. Phosphoric acid has the ability to dissolve nails in four days. Rest is left to your imagination.
