How to accept an insult.

The best way is to ignore it I do that. This is one way when you can't topple it as this is the only left for a person. :blink:

In case it's in form of cheque, I would return it with coins to clear the interest amounts, after all the drawer deserves some thing in return. :whistle:

First of all, people should not inslut others unnecessarily. If a person is insulted, he should do as mentioned by Rambabu in this thread. It is good way to deal with insult. People has tendency to demotivate others. Insult becomes strong weapon to do so. Just tackle it.

I don't think it is always possible to laugh at insults unless it is a joke or some prank. However, it is not even encouraging. If we allow once then it may become a habit.

I agree. Even punishment is better than insult. But some are in habit of hurling insult on others. If you respond, they are encouraged. The best way is to ignore them. Caravan moves on wile dogs bark.

I feel that the more you bother about other people and what they say the more they feel they have a power over you, the best thing to do is to carry on with what you are ding as long as you know what you are doing is right....just think I am the best damn the rest ! it is good for your self esteem as well...lol :cheer:

Not while you give a proper response first time around, that would let them understand that insulting some one may result in dire consequences.

The title of the thread is a misnomer. This is about accepting insult. The only question remains 'how to accept'. But most posters favor ignoring the insult. I suggest that the title be changed by substituting 'accept' with 'reject'. It will be more appropriate to discuss- How to reject insult.

We reject everything that is undesirable. So, insult is also to be rejected outright either by counter insult or by ignoring.

But either way, when there is no expected response or reaction from others people get fed up and give up altogether, so ignorance is the best medicine I feel...

Why should we allow them to be on work for that long. Why not stop them at first point itself, who the hell they think they are to behave that way???
