Yes, devotees pay a lot of money to God and make them rich. But truth is that God lies among poor..
For assets, Padmanabhaswamy has almost double value of Thirupathi...recent reports are yet to come out. (considering treasure only)
If it's so very soon Venkateswara is going to overtake Padmanabha swamy, sooner than later.
Padmanabha is situated in the heart of the city....
so, recent news making has caused a lot of traffic blocks.....
yet, it's gaining popularity for the recent found treasure. People visiting this temple not in Bhakthi, but to 'feel
the treasure :woohoo: :woohoo: :silly: :S
So true Sandhya. It's said in Tirupati everything is available except 'Punya.'
If no punya then why so many people go there!!!!
The richest men create richest god. god id made by the rich and he is theirs. This reminds me of an old song in 'Paigam'- O ameeron ke parmeshwar ham gareebon ki bhi le khabar (O Richmen's god. take ocare of poor also)
"..... dekh Hum lutrahen hain Tere Raaj mein." C'Ramchandrs's immortal creation and Asha's memorable rendition. Thank you for taking me to nostalgia
I went there recently and found it to be better organised now than it was before and no matter how commercialised it is , it is still a place to reckon with, drawing devotees and tourists from all over India and even from other countries.I love the special laddoos that are made during the festivals, never eaten anything as tasty..
Actually the topic is wrong. It should have been - "Richest temple in the world." .
God is almighty. He is rich and all are beggars.
You are mistaken . This class divide is there amongst gods too. Many Gods they do not have even a temple of their own. No devotees go there and no pujaris to light the lamp at least once in a day.

Then what about padmanaba in Kerala. He is more richest than Venkateshwara.
i think, he was telling about the prizes he receive everyday from his 'Bhakth'....no doubt, thirupathi is the temple of India that people visits most.

Yes besides the riches presented by the devotees. the present Hundi collection on an average amounts to Rs. 2- 3 crores. On Brahmotsavam and other religious functions, the income touches a mind boggling in come.

Even though its old link, the present condition Of Balaji as far as money is concerned increased 10 fold.

Thank you for completing the song quoted by me. Indeed poor are trampled and suppressed under God's reign (better to say God men's reign)
