Every body knows that the MPs of ruling and opposition made lot of noice over the issue. But Actually everybody want is a share on the cake that's it. If we consider the issue, plainly speaking, there should not be any gender bias at all After all both male and female share the same things on earth including power. But One thing to make note is that the law considers females from the cities only....! The women empowerment programs running nowadays through out the country allows only 'Babuji's Beevi ko secratary banaye' like that... The real poor female won't even allowed to look into that part of the power politics. But they are used in rally's and seminars. My opinion is sharing 50 - 50 seats is a good idea but not with the village females - since that may resemble the garland in hands of monkeys...! They must be trained first in order to take care of the power they are getting otherwise every thing will be a mess...

Media is saying four steps still left for pass of the bill then it will take around one year surely....
Yes. The bill will definitely take a long time. As this is constitution amendment bill, two third majority in Lok Sabha is required. This is also to be passed by state assemblies.
Really many suspect about getting through all these steps.
I think the issue needs to be examined in a detached and dispassionate manner. While some of the criticism may be valid but I don't see any point in putting up blind opposition to it as some political parties and their leaders are doing. In the past there were instances when a legislation came and went through several amendments and modification to suit the needs of time.In the present case when this bill becomes a law, it too can go through the motions of amendment to accommodate the dissenting views.
I agree with Chinmoymukherjee. There are some disputes on the women reservation bill. This should be even then allowed for discussion. Disputes can be sorted out during discussion or some amendments may be made to the bill to suit the divergent views.
Women reservation bill is a good step in Indian history. But all types of women have to get chance.
Let us wish this stuff gets two third majority in the Loksabha.
Shalu- Two third majority in Lok Sabha is not difficult as Congress, BJP and the left are supporting the bill. But the congress desires that there should be zero opposition and consent of all including Mulayam singh and Lalu Yadav be obtained.
Zero opposition is desired by congress to claim that the bill passed unanimously. But I think Lalu and Mulayam will not allow it if they are honest in their protest.
The kind of snide comments Mulayam Singh has been making about the women and this bill, brings his intentions under a cloud and he seems to have developed a vested interest in blocking this progressive measure!
All leaders have vested interests and all political parties have hidden agenda. We common people are really donkeys to call zindabad to them.
Abid- i totally agree with you. The politicians have only their vote banks before them and they want only their vested interests be fulfilled.
Thanks Gulshan.Vote bank politics is the curse of our country.Unfortunately we have no other option. It may be a drawback of democracy.
the bill is a big political stunt by sonia and congress. they knew what will happen. if they really wished to give women what is due to them, they should have proposed 50% instead of 33%. the other way would have been to have another 545 seats only for women.

there too the men will hijack those and put their puppets so that they can have their way. haven't we ween these things for so long?
This is correct. I understand that the male politicians will install their family women as proxies in the way Rabari Devi was made Bihar C.M. But, once reservation takes effect, women with independent personality may score over the puppet game.
Let us look at the positives of the proposed move.Even if some good comes out of the so-called stunts and all that let it come after all.We all know what happened when some leaders of the Congress who formed a syndicate and fully backed Indira Gandhi in the hope of pulling the strings from behind and using her as a puppet!!
Yes Chinmoy. We should be positive. Nothing is static. when we move some thing new comes. Even if the current leaders try to install their own proxies from their family women, ultimately this will have positive effect. even their proxies or supposed to be puppets women will actually sit in parliament and debate. after some time, they will feel like acting independently. One example of Indira Gandhi is given. The so called syndicate wanted to use her as puppet but she asserted herself. Rabari Devi is also not so ineffective or puppet type as she was initially. Ultimately, women reservation in parliament will give good results. Even if this is symbolic in the beginning, some results will come in due course.
The proposed move has caught our imagination and sparked off a healthy debate. Let us remember even without reservation we had a galaxy of women leaders who left their indeliable mark during the freedom struggle like Sarojini Naidu,Aruna Asaf Ali,Sucheta Kripalini the first woman chief minister of a state-U.P.
Positive thinking is good. But we should not forget the otherside of it while thinking positively beacause the negative side may contain justice.
@anbul

While it is undoubtedly true that we need to be aware of the negative aspect but our mindset should be always positive.Excessive negativism does not help one's cause.
