Jai Ram Ramesh has commented that old age pension of Rs. 200/- L.M. is too less and insulting.
May be he is right. This should be increased to Rs. 1,000/- P.M. with free medical facility. However, the minimum age for eligibility should be increased to seventy years. Also, the recipients should be encouraged to voluntarily work in various government welfare schemes.

People in power should bring these things in existence, just hi lighting them won't do any good to the needy ones.
In fact, nobody has absolute power. Jai Ram Ramesh is a minister but he cannot get whatever he wants. So, it is good that he has highlighted the issue of old age pension for more public debate and action by government.
That he displayed the moral scruples of highlighting it, makes his act praiseworthy!
I agree with you but up to an extent, how come they propose and pass any bill in jiffy while this is in their own interest. have you noticed how fast they do it while increasing their own emoluments.
This is also press gimmick. They pass quickly but before that discuss privately in depth through committees. The remuneration of MPs and other facilities are not excessive. If they just restrict to the facilities expressly given, there is no issue. But when they indulge in corruption and get more than what is just and in rules, this is issue.
What some of them they get for doing nothing but shouting and screaming on the floor of the House,makes it grossly and vulgarly excessive
This is a matter of gross misconduct. In all fairness, no salary and allowances should be payable during the relevant period. Speaker of Lok sabha should take action in such matters.
I am fully agree with you sir..........Old age pension has to be increased and increases the facility of old persons..Then after Every indian feel proud on Indian government................
Do you think they are going to do any thing like that? No way they only show carrots to horses, nothing more.
