leaders are representatives of common people ...so i think not only mayawati who is only responsible for all this ....also common people who voted for him are also responsible....in u.p. politics is done on the basis of caste....and with no regards to mayawati we are not responsible to fulfill dreams of her and her guru kanshiram....do it with your own not with our money
The Election commission decision to cover the elephant statues is really helping Mayavati and her party. Now they have coined the slogan- Khula hathi lakh ka bandha hathi sava lakh ka (a bare elephant is worth one lakh and covered one worth one and quarter lakh).

Mayavati has wished theat similar 'good sense' always prevail with opposition, who got the 'elephants' in parks covered.

I too think the same, this way the ruling party will get the benefit of sympathy and more publicity among their followers, this would make them martyrs and they would en-cash it too.

I don't know if these politicians really want to improve country's economic or just want to full their pockets. Its really hard to believe on any of the politician these days every one seems to be corrupt.
Mayawati will come back to power in next elections as people have a short memory and elephants will remain where they are. Akhilesh has over ruled his father, He knows this is only friendly fights in politics. There is no real rivalry. This is musical chair, whee every one has to come and go.

There is no enmity in politics and this must no be. People have a choice to elect a government of their choice. Mayavati had constructed parks and erected there statues of many prominent Dalit leaders and also elephants in welcome pose. So far, this is okay. Erection of her own statues is not fair but she had a right to decide. There were several charges of corruption and Mayavati was too late to take remedial measure. That is why her government has been replaced by samajvadi Party. Let us hope that new government will do well. The people will get another chance to vote in next parliamentary just two years after. It is wrong to say that there is no real rivalry. Rivalry is real. But this is not enmity. There must never be enmity in democratic process.
