You need to subscribe to a feed to get this information directly downloaded on to your computer.

RSS -for Really Simple Syndication, just used to describe the technology used in creating feeds.

Hi MC, I don't have in depth knowledge about RSS, but I will share my ideas,

1) If you have a website/blog, go to http://feedburner.google.com/. This comes under Google and you can very well use your gmail id for signing in.So Once you sign in, you need to submit your webiste/blog url. So They will give a fee url and you need to paste in your website. ( In blog you have a provision, dot sure where in own website(

2)Second question not sure, because if we subscribe others, we just gt their updates and I don't know how we can promote our site using that.

Yes.. feeds are normally sent to your mail id which you registered. There are some gadgets that you can use in your site to show the RSS updates of other sites. Adding feed feature to a site really helps in increasing the traffic.

One who joined it will be notified with all the updates made in the site.

Feeds are just a short description of an update made on the site.

If you have a blog and you have added feed option in it, then when you make a new post in your blog, a notification will be sent to all who joined. The feed will contain a short description about the new post and link back to your site. So, those who interested in reading further will be directed to your site.

By adding feed option in your site, you can prevent loosing of readers of your site..

Feedburner is a popular feed service... There are also other feed services..
