May be the firangis were very stubborn, present situation I think no, it would be more difficult now
India is a vast country. It needs time to organize whole people and fight.

In fact, British also had to take long time to maintain hold on entire nation. East India Company grabbed the princely states one by one and not the entire country simultaneously. They had also to struggle against competition of French and Portugal.

We got independence tow times. First war of independence in 1857 brought end to arbitrary rule of East India company and replaced this by rule of law under direct control of British crown. This was also partial success of the first war of independence.

The second phase of independence war fought under congress. British allowed administration at provincial and local level by Indians. Thus even before 1947, municipalities, village panchayats, provincial governments were run by Indians. In 1947, we got complete independence. Needless to say that apart from congress, the radical revolutionaries and INA under Subhash Chandra Bose also contributed.
Yes its true .

Indias physical and mental condition was strong when they were in fight mode with firangi . Today we have lot of guns and topes and other atomic power but we are not powerful like previous.
I am totally agree with Mr. Gulshanji.Apart this we had many mirjaphars in that time as we had taken long time to get freedom.
What are the reasons that Firangi did have any mirjaphar but India have too much mirjaphar.

There is an unpleasant fact behind so many Mirjafars. India was not one nation before British rule. There were so many princely states and each state was a distinct identity or nation. This was natural considering large area, different cultures and languages.

Let us understand this by example of treaty between Maharaja Ranjeet Singh and British. British recognized the strength of Maharaja Ranjeet singh and entered a pact with him. Ranjeet Singh would not attack the British India and would expand territory towards Afghanistan and beyond. The British would also not attack the territory occupied by Maharaja Ranjeet Singh. why Mahraja Ranjeet singh enter in such treaty. This is obvious that Maharaj Ranjeet Singh ruled princely states had distinct identity and there was no concept of identity of India as one nation.

The British must be given credit for unifying India and opening window for world. Earlier it was considered sin even to cross the sea. Even Mahatama Gandhi's mother did not want him to go overseas but she allowed him on condition of observing celibacy and not taking non veg food.

As India was not considered one nation, any one including Mirjafar could help British.
Dear Gulshan ji

Your knowledge on History is very good we enjoyed with your reply and I am agree with you.
Currently if we get freedom from corrupt people then it can describe the current ability of india to get the freedom .

More than 90% are corrupt. even those who write unnecessary posts for points and copy from other sites for cash and points are corrupt. So, freedom from corruption means self improvement.
You all are correct but the main and most valid reason behind this is -
1. Some indians were traitors who betrayed their group leaders or king for money and life.
2. There are many caste, religion and languages. In other words, lack of unity.
We woke up late and later after 50 to 60 years we realised that now it is time to fight and there those struggle started.
India struggeled all time stil today it is stuggling Anna ji is one hope to get freedom from corruption.
Yes, I agree with the points that the internal selfishness and jealousy among the Indian rulers and the selfish motives of the people in general has delayed our freedom from the British in the past...
So Internal Enemy made big difference on time . India was strong but it was not able to fight with Mirjafar not firangi.
Very nice discussion initiated by Santosh. Hope the second freedom struggle against corruption yields us a victory.
