This is a superstition. Surprisingly, many educated persons wear such gems. Many TV channels are telecasting advertisements for these. This is very disgusting state of affairs.

This is really a matter of perverse thinking and not weakness of mind. Therte are many even among educated, who believe more in gems, horoscope, stars, planets, astrologers and palmists. Even if such person receives head injury in an accident, he will not blame his not wearing helmet and rash driving. He will check with astrologer as to what went wrong with his stars.
