Muslim regards his/her pain is what Allah wishes, so they pray to Allah to give them strength to bear the pain. A Christian prays to god to the pain away. Man suffers because some guy called Adam had an apple offered to him by his wife, the Fall of Man.
A Hindu or any body following any Indian religion regards pain/joy as his karmic results.
Sumit,Can you be elaborate on your question.I could not get the intended meaning of it. :( :(

We all suffer from illness and other agonies from time to time. The religion provides some help to overcome the sorrow. The question is simply this- How different religions help to overcome sorrow. The question has been aptly replied by some.

The main thrust of religions is that joy and sorrow are given by God and we should accept this without complaining. The Hindus believe that joy and sorrow are result of our deeds- present, past or previous lives. Muslims believe that whatever Allah does is good. The Sikhs say- Tera Bhana Meetha lage (whatever God wills is sweet).
