September 5 is the labor day of America and USPS has unveiled the 2010 stamp program which included Nobel Peace Prize honoree Mother Teresa, legendary actress Katharine Hepburn, Negro Leagues Baseball and Cowboys of the Silver Screen.

In 1996 US congress and Pres Bill Clinton awarded Mother with honoury US citizenship. Till now this honour has been bestowed to 5 people including Winston churchill, Raoul Wallenberg , William Penn and Hannah Callowhill Penn , Marquis de Lafayette.Except Hannah Callowhill Penn everyone has appeared in US postage stamps

Mother died on Sep 5 - 1997. she has been an indian citizen since 1948

Sajee, that is ridiculous..I dont think she is religious person.if that is true she could have never entered India..which is have different religions.. :(
I really have no problem with Mother Teresa as a symbol.

However, it should be noted that Mother Teresa as a person was completely different than most people outside India seem to understand... and not in a good way.
