Why current Indian politicians not comparable with our previous leader?

The early leaders were drawn from freedom movement. Now the political leaders are professional and career seekers. We cannot expect them to be as sacrificing and principled as early leaders but expect them to be at least honest and sincere and not indulge in unlawful activities.

Basically now everything has become too much materialistic, everything revolves around money and material comforts. The past leaders had set themselves strict codes of conduct they suffered a lot to abide by them whereas today's politicians, I don't like to call them as leaders; resort to increase their personal wealth by whatever means they can find.
