Now All India Institute of Medical Science can be called as American Indian Institute of Medical Science.
A study found that over 53% of students who pass out as doctors from AIIMS leave India to work abroad,especially USA and other developed countries.
Why does this happen?.They are elite because they studied in India.Maybe facilities in India are not up to the standards of USA, but still we are much much better.Don't they have a commitment to the nation?.
It seems that the brain drain policy of America is doing well.So who should be blamed?.The country for not providing enough facilities and comfort, or doctors who forget their responsibility and commitment?

Selfishness can make a man any type nature. Due to this nature "AIIMS can be called as American Indian Institute of Medical Science"
Indian Government spending lot of expenditure on every medical student comparative than other courses. After completion of the course,all the AIIMS student has been importing US without serving mother country, cause of selfishness.
It is a very painful phenomenon we have got to live with.It won't be quite fair to blame these bright minds alone who leave India for better opportunities elesewhere.There are two sides involved in it.We witnessed what political activism meant when the former Health Minister Romdoss literally made AIIMS his happy hunting ground by regularly interefering in its day-to-day functioning.We need to create the right facilities and environment so that this brain drain can be stopped.It's equally true that materialsim has started dominating our lives in an ugly manner. In the past the famous scientist Dr. P.C.Roy who founded Bengal Chemicals in the British days worked selflessly- only the cause of the country mattered to him.Similarly Dr.J.C.Bose whose house is Bose Institute is another shining example.Dr.P.C.Mahalanabis - the father of Statistics in India and the founder of Indian Statistical Institute - an internationally acclaimed institution - gave away his vast property for this institution. Such a spirit is absolutely missing amongst the bright youngters today.
Lack of dedication to nation and surrender to market economy in all fields make such situation. We need doctors not only in big cities but in rural area. It is pity that doctors should seek gr4eener pastures abroad.
Education even for medical science should be absolutely free but the doctors should be at disposal of nation and people of India.

Its very sorry state that Medical graduates are running towards USA while in india rural areas are still deprived of professional doctors.
There must be a condition for the doctors to work at least 5 years in the country (at least first 2 years in the rural areas and next 3 years urban areas). Govt is spending huge amount of money to train them. How they can run away from their responsibilities???
