It seems like a never ending saga because after making his announcement about resigning which left all the sycophants stunned , and now after 5 days , Rahul remains stubbornly locked up in his house like a petulant child whose promised toy has failed to materialise. In the meantime other than his close family , no one else gains entry into his abode but that does not stop the clamoring Congress leaders from making a bee way to his house, wait in the hope is f his darshan etc etc..

My feeling is Rahul wants to make sure that even in defeat the media and nation's attention remains focused on him ...share your views please

The drama still continues.. Rahul Gandhi has said that deciding for new president name is the work of Congress party.  It's not his responsibility and duty to name or suggest someone.  I am not sure if this will lead somewhere.  It's same like the saying "Who will bell the cat? ". In the work culture of this party can anyone go ahead a name someone out of this family.  Rahul is simply bluffing around and playing a safe game.  All seems like a well scripted plot.

He will keep shirking that unless there is a spotlight to be hogged. Now Manishankar Iyer is saying that it is okay for the party head to be someone outside the Gandhi-Nehru family but ultimately the onus will lay on the family itself who will always be there to guide and direct the party. What a sycophant. He has no guts to say that the family is no longer relevant now but they will still look up to them and no one else.

I think Rahul is paving the way for Priyanka to takeover the presidency of Congress. But the party has reached in such a situation where there is no come back for them.

Mani Shankar Aiyer said that congress president out of from Gandhi family is possible, but to save congress it is must that Gandhi family must be active in Party. If it will happen that it may be sequel of accidental Prime Minister, accidental president of congress.

What did he meant when he said its not his responsibility? Isn't he a part of Congress?? Disgusting!! By now he should have fair knowledge of the capabilities of his party men and if he sincerely wants others to lead the Congress party, he would have actively taken part in selecting the next Party President. By shirking that responsibility, it looks like he wants others to name him only. He should stop behaving like a pampered child.

The Nehru/Gandhi family have always been pampered,  more so now after the assassination of Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi. No doubt, they were both very tragic incidents but using that as an excuse to uphold a useless bunch like Sonia and her children shows nothing but stupidity snd desperation to a certain extent. This loss of face in Amethi seems to have driven Rahil Gandhi crazy and he is hatching all sorts of unproductive plans like andolan against evms, stop parliament sessions, again bring up Rafael issue.

Truly a very immatured talk. He does not know what he talks and people around him have to understand what he meant. A leader is someone who can convey, adminster and utilise people strength for the welfare of the Country.

Rahul as a person doesn't have any capabilities as such of Adminstration and conveying skills. If he still continues to be the leader then the Congress is sure to be bereft of any support from Congress supporters as well.

Rahul has made it clear that he will not take this responsibility and the party should select someone within a month. He is right, he has no time for party from his foreign visits. Presidency of a party is full time job that needs lot of efforts.

It is nothing more than drama. Other congress leaders are drone. It may be possible that some person other than Ghandhi family may be president of congress. but it is assured that, that person will be a proxy president.

Yes it might be that he is paving a way for Priyanka.  But will it solve the crisis in the party?  Priyanka like her brother is not a serious politician and both of them have relied mainly on their dynasty more than their capacities and capabilities.  They have to wake up to the call that both of them have been rejected by public and are equal failure.

And in one meeting Priynka said to other leaders congress ke Hatyare. If other leader were failed than Priynka was also failed. She promoted party on 44 seats in UP what was result. Only one seat of his mother. Now Rahul is saying that it is demand that president of congress must be from South. By luck he his party won in Kerala so now he wants to migrate to South.

The drama seems to be never ending. In the Friday meeting, it seems more than 130 Congress leaders tendered their resignation to show solidarity with Rahul. Not only that, some of them are pressurising the other senior leaders too to resign. I really fail to understand how does such mass resignation solve the issue. Isn't it time for them to move forward and start working so as to improve their position in the next election?

The slavish mentality is dinned to Congress mens minds so much so that they cannot look beyond Gandhis' ...In a way they are showing the nation how their party works and they have the audacity to call themselves drmocratic, secular and what not

Drama of resignation still continue. If Rahul withdraw his resignation that it is assured that in 2024 congress will lost most of seats. Congress leaders don't want to accept it that peoples rejected Gandhi family.

I wonder if anybody is paying any attention to this opposition gimmick.

The purpose of which is to create non formal advertising, that Congress Party is still existing after the 2019 Elections debacle.

A straightforward decision is being shown a round about way to the same answer, that Rahul must step down.

It seems like Rahul Gandhi has resigned taking the responsibility of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections debacle.

A sigh of relief and respite from all the drama and ruckus created around.

Its time for others to accept his decision and select someone who can lead the party forward. In a way, its very sad to see the oldest political party facing such crisis.

Congress party lost its purpose and objective decades ago actually but they still kept hanging on to the power solely by taking disadvantage of trust and faith of millions of poor citizens of India. Now all this drama and sad attempts to remain in spotlight is only backfiring on them. How can the senior party leaders not see this?

I don't think that they see it that way. I feel that the Congress party senior leaders must be thinking that if they can create it's drama, then people can know that Congress still exists though may be in a negative way.

Otherwise, the other way to look at it is that the senior party leaders may have thought that all this drama is getting backfired and hence all of them gave their resignation to force the matter of Rahul's resignation. The senior party members I think are more better in their political outlook and played it diplomatically to oust Rahul from power, which he any was deserving. Rahul had earlier disrespected the senior party members by alleging that their role lead to the defeat of Congress.

Today he said that other leader of congress are also responsible for defeat in election. It is assured that some other person will be president of congress and he will work as per will of Rahul and Sonia Gandhi.
