From last two days I am listening on National news channels that prices of tomato in major cities like Delhi has gone near about 100 per k.g. But when I go to my own local market to purchase tomato, shopkeepers are selling tomato at the rate 20 - 30 rupees per k.g. What had made this huge difference? Still the farmers are selling tomato and onion at very low prices, at about 5 - 10 rupees per kg.

Price of Rs 100 is touched on a day and gets reported. Then customers resist and prices start falling. So press is not reporting wrong. But you seem to be alright with a price of Rs 60 per kg !

No, I am not happy with the price of Rs. 60 per kg but I mentioned it to show the style of reporting.

Tomatoes at my place are now Rs.80 per kilo, that is 20 less than what I was paying for them. Are you all still buying tomatoes at such high prices?

Knowing the prices in different places, I feel happy the prices in AP are far lower. Because, Today the price of Tomatoes in the vegetable market is just Rs. 30 per Kilo.

Rambabu your state have enough rain. Price of tomatoes may be come down in coming days. enjoy these.

Yes. in some places prices are still high. But in some places prices of all vegetable have come down. In AP people are very much satisfied with the prices. All the prices of Veggies  have come down especially in Vizag, where I live.

Prices are going to come down but money lost due to high prices  is lost forever

Now the compensation for crop failure is on the Cards in AP

Consumers too feel the heat of price rise. Many people in other states are buying the vegetables at exorbitant prices.

Here price are much high but limited vegetable are available in market so we feeling boring to repeat these again and again. You know mushroom is expensive vegetable but after some days it will available in desert area free of cost.

I understand. Limited availability of Veggies, makes one bored. Fortunately, we get a wide range of vegetables. Mushrooms are very costly here.

My district have not average rain till the day but adjoining district have normal rain. In last one month we have only 20 mm rain. It is also reason for non avaialbility of wide range of vegetables.

So, if there is  normal rainfall, prices, naturally come down.

but now excess rains is being given as reason for continued high prices.

Optimum rains are required. Neither inadequate nor excess rainfall will damage the crops.
