Do we need this type of freedom of expression or freedom of speech?

Definitely not, as a comedian , he certainly has the right and the freedom to mock celebrities as long as it does not cross the limit. But when he goes overboard saying Lata Mangeshkar should die like Jon Snow did, it is simply not right. Jon Snow gets murdered brutally in the very popular British series The Game Of Thrones. What exactly is he trying to say or prove by this kind of cheap so called comedy 

yes we should do something to protect our real RATAN of our country, who is tanmay bhat to say this two prestigious BHARAT RATNA winner of our country to die like Jon Snow. is he gone mad just because to get popularity, i have to say this is really a cheap trick to get popularity. the cases is also filed against Tanmay Bhat this is really not a comedy, he is really crossing his limits.

He want to become popular overnight by using cheap and abusive comedy. Such type of people should be put behind jail and his all videos should be banned in public.

Tanmay  Bhat is a habitual offender. Humor is about striking a balance between cold, hard truth and varying doses of imagination and exaggeration. What Tanmay Bhat displayed is crude. In this connection, it's worth noting the comments of Anupam Kher, who won many awards for his best performance as the best comic actor. He is firm that Tanmay's act is crude and it is not at all humor. It is disgusting and disrespectful. I agree with Anupam.

Perhaps he got carried away by the tolerance people showed to his gags. We are still a country who do not want to see our heroes ridiculed beyond a limit.

Making fun of the country's icons is okay if they are done in good humour and tasteful manner, but if any one has seen that video, we can realise that it was too disgusting and cheap. Especially more degrading when he has had the audacity to put obscene words in both their mouths, Lata and Sachin may not be p[erfect human beings but putting such words and showing an obscene conversation between them is really cheap! AIB has really gone overboard this time!

Tanmay Bhat is a cheap type street Joker whose aim is to get thrills and Kicks. What all he needs is that applause from the audience, who belong to same category as that of Tanmay. Police complaints have been already filed against him by Maharashtra's ruling BJP and also Raj Thackery's MNS. Now the issue has grown up beyond proportions. The police is talking with  Google and Youtube on Blocking the Video. He should be jailed . He should tender apology to all those celebrities who were victimized by the Cheap Joker.

He should be reprimanded and his license to do comedy shows suspended for say one year, but need not be jailed.

But all the political parties are insisting on his imprisonment.

Arrey dont burden them with such titles because it is not easy to be a God in this country..however, Lata Mangeshkar does not seem too bothered about the issue as one can see by her response. I too personally feel that , the fellow should be warned against taking liberties and making distasteful jokes. I don't see why he should be jailed when politicians hurl so many abuses at each other and still go scot free.

Indeed peoples forgot value of freedom of speech and expression. It is only reason that they are misusing this important right.

This is a classic case of violating Freedom of speech.Pahlaj Nihalani, Censor Board Chief said banning of Tanmay Bhat is not enough. He should be arrested. Leaving such people who under the guise of Comedy shows do anything and everything sets a wrong precedence.

Arnab may be forceful but I have  not come across him insulting anyone, in fact he gets insulted by some for his ways .

However @ anil , freedom is a double edged sword and one person's freedom shd not infringe on another person. We all criticized Mamata Banerjer for her autocratic ways  , so how is this different?

It's time we understood our limit and refrain from talking too big. I t is applicable on everyone including Media, judiciary, legislature and people in entertainment industry. Freedom of speech does not mean one is allowed to go beyond his limits.

Lata Mageshkar is too busy and occupied with her own business to pay any attention to such trivial and insignificant issues. The likes of Tanmay Bhatt should not be given so much attention by the media and the people. However, his video should be blocked and he should be made to pay heavy fines and leave it at that. The country and the state has too many other more important issues to deal with than Bhatt and his cheap jokes and people too should mind their own, more important business. This kind of publicity will only make him more famous.

Freedom of expression does not extend to causing insult.  As long as you don't cause personal insult to any, and you serve public purpose, you may express anything. 

But what is definition of insult. There is no unanimity on it. One should not be crude and lewd and hit below the belt. But some amount of insult is needed in stand up comedies.
