Along with Gujarati Thalii, South Indian Thalis, Punjabi Thalis too have a high patronage in SingaporeMalaysia etc.
If they are consumed by local Indians then they are not popular in these countries.
Not only locals but by all communities they are popular in the above said countries.

All over Gulf Indian food has become very popular ...In Dubai they have all kinds of South Indian Thalis , some with rotis,rice and other accompaniments and some with appams and rice .You get really tasty food in Dubai , Abu dhabi and elsewhere in the gulf countries.

Many Indians who settled in Malaysia especially, Tamilians started these Thali meals embracing all the delicacies of South India. The same situation in Singapore. They are doing a lucrative business in those countries.

There are Udipi Restaurant and Mysore Woodlands in Chicago that serve a very tasty vegetarian thali for about 12 -14 dollars ..In fact I am told that there are thali meals available in Indian restaurants in all major cities across USA

Indian cuisine is a big lucrative business. There are many Hotels and restaurants in many western countries including USA. All these Hotels are run by expatriates from India.
