Is it? I don't watch BBC India.. But yes they must provide some good material for sure. I watch discovery and national geography. Yes they covers all over the world, but sometime they also provide show India related and they are really cool.

Try on your own in google search. Without trying you cannot come to a conclusion about those channels which provide a whale of a quality stuff.

Where I have denied it?!!! I have said that they must have provide good stuff. I have heard about popularity of BBC from many year.

And I told same thing about other channels like discovery and national geography from my personal experience. 

What I said was, you can know more such channels and help the members so that they are also beneficiaries.

OHhh... Ok. Actually I am watching few channels already. But will search for few more.

I am thankful to all who have replied here and gave their own opinion. Of course we all know about the quality shows of BBC, Discovery, Animal Planet or History. They have their different subject which runs time to time and not everyone have the same interest on their subject. Personally I like "space" subjects or "Ancient history" and not have enough time to watch it. A normal Indian when he comes at home in the evening, he need quick entertainment thus we find Indian channel easier unless we are fond of some particular channel. But when you open any shows, you watch all these. Yes, we do have control in our hand and can avoid watching it  but what surprising is that, it becoming more day by day.   

 Actually they show what audience want. I don't mind watching comedy show as far as I am getting entertained. I like comedy shows. I won't say that it has become an idiot box. Moreover now a days we have lots of option unlike in the past when we used to have only 3Dd TV channels to watch.

For different tastes, different channels are there, if you don't cry over the quality. So it makes clear that all TV channels are a trash.

Mostly, private new channels are going for yellow journos, ingoring news, and that is why on my leisure I revert to dd news, ls and rs tv and there are some good entertainment and infotainment channels but dauly soaps is all about creating storhy of merry go round and there are many supporters to it too. 

Supporters will be there for entertainment channels. At the same time supporters  of quality news like BBC channels are there. In a nutshell TV CATERS TO THE TASTES OF all kinds of viewers.

I agree, DD TV is far better than most privately owned channels as they concentrate more on revenue. It seems they insert VCD that plays the same news items they program for the day. The only change you find is the adverts only.

DD Bharti, DD National are full of quality content with least or no Ads.

 

All pvt. news channels have only one reporter per state and it seems most of their news feed reaching out from either DD or news agencies. 

A TV VIEWER is concerned with the Quality content. He's least bothered about the administrative part of a ChannEl like whether a particular channel runs the show with one correspondent or a battery of correspondents.

Search for quality still haunts users even at times of such crowd of channels where there is sometimes nothing outright qualitative programs to suggest.

It seems most of television programs are being done quickly without much concentration on subjects as most of contents of infotainment channels are mostly repetitive in long run. 

There are both kinds. But many are business oriented . In this process, these channels, ignore Quality. But it doesn't mean that there are no channels sans quality at all. 

TV channels need to take care of all kinds of taste among people.Majority of thm are looking for entertainment , so they give what they want...There are business and financial news, political news, nature and environment issues,religious channels..In fact we are spoilt for choice these days and it depends on us as to what we want to watch ...
