How do we punish politicians who talk rubbish about heinous crimes like rape?

Not a single day passes without some report on rape in some part of the country. The respect for girl children, in particular, is becoming a big problem.

Yet, our politicians, particularly from the North of India, behave as if nothing has happened. They even try to talk in favor of the criminals who indulge in rape. How can we punish them, without any physical violence?

Any one- politician or otherwise, would not favor rape. Thre could be dispute about magnitude of the problem in a particular state as compared to others, quantum of punishment, remedial action etc. Some one opind against capital punishment. This does not amount to encouraging rape.

In a country where culprits, rapists are not getting punished, in a country where trials and court cases are stretched so long and never ending that culprits are set free to committ more crimes..how can we punish people who talk in favour of crimes such as rape. Freedom of speech is misused to the extent that these politicians who are supposed to run and ensure smooth functioning of our govt, are now talking in favour of crimes such as rape by making weird statements that eating chowmein and wearing a wrong kind of outfit invites rapists to commit crime. There is little that we can do here.

Have you forgotten how very recently people punished these insensitive politicians and shown the exit ? Use the same weapon at the right moment.

The Last general Election has seen how some of the politicians got punished for their views on Rape , notably Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde who came out with some of the most insensitive remarks during Nirbhaya case...So also Shiela Dikshit, who not only lost so did her son...again because of their insensitivity and arrogance !

Yes arrogance made them eat the dust. This is what Natwar Singh too said in his recent outburst. Now all the Congress offices in AP are being forced to display the Boards, "TO LET". Even then there are no takers.
