Ok, here I go again starting another controversial topic. Many people including Ministers and MLAs keep complaining about free porn on the internet in India and stating that it should be blocked. But the surprising thing is that after 15 years of internet in India, porn sites are yet to be blocked by the Government! Do you support that pornographic sites should be blocked on Indian Internet servers?

China is a communist nation and India is a democracy. Government cannot do whatever they want in India. There is no comparison between India and China.

Government take action only when they got supported by peoples otherwise they can't do on its own.....

People have no say in the governance of China and they blocked Facebook to stop the anti-government discussion. India is a democracy. Here the government can't just block a site which they disapprove of. I reiterate watching porn sites is a personal choice government should not be involved. If a person don't want to see he can take personal measures to stop them.
With the joint efforts of the people and the government anything can be achieved. Blocking the porn sites is not an exception.

Yes but many people like to watch porn sites, so why would they support government. Even in Alexa ranking some of the top web sites include porn sites.
Internet is a free world, nothing can be stopped, govt have stopped many sites, but those sites are located outside and they change the server location, and in India, people are using VPN and proxies to browse those sites, we cannot stop internet, the world of internet is a jungle state.

It's not the question of stopping internet. It's blocking some websites which publish objectionable stuff.

You cannot really block porn sites. People will always find new alternatives.

This happens in India only. We have taken it for granted and have become used to it, we are soft and getting what we deserve.

Law violators and violations are everywhere. May be less or more here and there

Yes it's not just India, every country has it's share of criminals.
We are talking about porn sites here, in most countries porn sites are no crime. If anyone thinks pornography is not for him, stop watching them or set your privacy to that level. One has no right to call it a crime. If it was a crime, I would say we all are criminals.

Seeing anything as a crime or otherwise depends on the society in which you were brought up. If you are brought up in a permissive society it's OK for you. It's not a crime to see pornography.
But it's one face of the coin, what about the other face?

The other face is - turn your face to the side where porn is not visible. You can't put a blanket ban on any site unless it's against the rules.

Society rules are there in which we move ,mix and mediate with your other society members.

That's where the catch is, no one watches porn with society or even family members so it becomes a personal choice where society does not interfere with your personal preferences.

will there be a place in the society where there is no interference ? Watching a porn movie behind my closed room is limited to me . But. I'm not the society. Its a group of individuals. Let's see the things in a larger canvas.

Friends of same taste including couples also watch porn TV. It is case of birds of a feather flocking together.

Yes it's your personal choice and you are not harming anyone else.
I think it is not possible to block them completely.. I mean there are many ways to access the sites even they ban the sites for Indian ip addresses.. There are many tricks available using people can access them even they are blocked. So it is hard to block them.
It is the same age old flow theory, where a person tries hard to find the middle path between, intensity and involvement, that is why, creator of one of most famous Apple store game namely Flappy Bird and Thessis have to be withdrawn because they are too additive.
