No one will help you unless you help yourself. We have a plethora of woman friendly Schemes like Self help groups designed to uplift the women. Women should come forward and make use of them.
Many woman entrepreneurs came up by their own efforts.

Veltur is a remote village in the backward district of Medak in AP., availed different schemes of government that help empowering women has metamorphosed in to an ideal village. 500 families of uneducated people have become self reliant and they paved their path to progress on their own. What can be a better example to demonstrate that women are realising their worth and determined to erase the stamp 'Backwardness' in women.

When you take the responsibility in you hands to solve your problems, instead of blaming others, you'll always find a solution. Where there is a will there is a way. :)

Thta's nice to hear ! The mindset has to be changed in rural areas first for the women to realise their worth and come forward. The change is there but very slow and obly after eforts taken like in Medak....In Karnataka too we have some model villages where Sudha Murthy and Infosys have done a commendable job of empowering the people especially women..
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Sudha Murthy has adopted some villages in AP. She of course provided the villages basic amenities, but warned the villagers not to be complacent and sit tight. She conducts regular workshops mainly for woman empowerment. She always says in her workshops, 'I could have given you fish curry to you. But that satiates your hunger for a day. I want to teach you how to catch fish to give you a life that enables you lead a life without depending on others.'
