For me while voting for parliamentary or legislative assembly, character, corruption, or criminal track record does not matter, so long as the representative will carry on good activities and welfare measures inside locality. After devastation of Pahilin hurricane, the concerned representative reaches every person to ask for any damages and then he has given free rice to all persons irrespective of economy standards. It is hard to predict a result at this moment, talking about a good government is a far fetched affair. I think public of this country will wake up to situation will vote value based. If they did the routine job of voting on cast basis, they will not be favoring themselves in the long run.
The people are not to blame. In most states they have alternative only between Congress and regional parties. Also there are some states where only regional parties are dominant. If the all India parties have become so ineffective or have not cared to build organization, why blame people. People can vote only to those who exist in their area.
No I am not blaming people but telling them to vote a good candidate in. And why do you think a good candidate can't be a congressman. If people have shown their trust in congress just why can't they come good at their expectation? What is wrong with congress? And what are other parties, they too were the part of the same chips until the other day.
It is for parties to select good candidates. However people should not vote such candidates whose bad character, corruption, criminal activities are well known. They can make a choice between candidates whose image is good.
Then people will not be able to vote perhaps. Not in most places at least if not all. That's what is the current scene.
There must be something in the heap before me to pick up a good brinjal. What if all the brinjals are rotten ?
In that case you will have to plant your own eggplant.

You see some candidates are not bad but they have to cope with this system so they change accordingly. It is our misfortune that the things have reached to a stage where they look almost irreparable. The system needs a ruthless surgery.
If it is so then India will have difficult times, but still I am sure this time will be a decisive majority, let is see .
Yes I am agree with you. If either congress or BJP will not won enough seats that public will its cost. Enough time is in general election it is time of thinking for public. We should be vote to national party.
I agree vote for national party. But remember that Congress is the only national party in majority of states. The other national party- BJP is in very few states. No need to comment on 'others'.

It is too horrible to say that people will not find a suitable candidate in most places. Then why not say people themselves are not suitable. Political parties and their members/ candidates are recruited from people only. If only bad and corrupt enter politics, who is at fault? Are the 'honest and good' only meant for complaining, lamenting whereas the 'dishonest and bad' are expeccted to deliver the goods?
Democracy is the successful form of politics in most countries, the sad part is that it is colluded with corruptions and red tapism. People have choices and also no choice option they can choose and vote wisely. For me while voting for parliamentary or legislative assembly, character, corruption, or criminal track record does not matter, so long as the representative will carry on good activities and welfare measures inside locality. Democracy will not work where literacy is not there. We have more literary illiterates plus real illiterates.

It is a survey only. We have seen the results several times which are entirely contradictory to the survey. No can easily judge the people mindset by conducting a survey from a limited number of persons.
Surveys are not reflections of society as due to complexity of Indian society it is always impossible to understand the mood of nation. I agree we should wait for real results.BJP may be single largest party but non congress non BJP will have more members than both major parties combined tally.

Most of the surveys target the educated voters. They are failing because most of the voters are illiterates. Even today our masses do not understand whom to vote. They vote to that candidate who offers more sops.

Even without survey we know the organizational strength and mass base of political parties. so, we can safely assess that if Congress loses only the other party with some organization and mass base can benefit. Thus only a fool can say that BJP will benefit in West Bengal or CPM in Gujarat from Congress debacle. I feel that the survey is realistic enough to say the Congress debacle will result in bigger space to non congress non BJP parties.

Yes it is right most of people votes because they wants to vote. They don't know to whom we vote why we vote.

I think most of people who go to vote know whom they vote but the only problem is they don't see in wider prospective of result when they cast their votes. It is not only a vote but future of the country and our ownself.

One important point I wish to stress is that voters should also see how many seats a political party is contesting. To illustrate, in Delhi, congress, BJP and AAM Aadami party are only contesting large number of seats. Hence these are serious contenders. Others are contesting token number of seats and so are not serious enough. Normally, one should choose from serious contenders.

Such people also get swayed at the last minute so one can never be sure.It is the educated middle class population that s more or less definite about who they want to vote...
In Delhi, last assembly election, apart from two major political parties, BSP has 14 percentages of vote share, I think AAP is sounding empty barrel, it is the electione between two major political party and BSP.Surveys are not reflections of society as due to complexity of Indian society it is always impossible to understand the mood of nation. Last time AAP did not contest. This is their first election. Kejriwal and his team has some image and popularity. They are likely to get substantial number of seats.

The way things are turning out, AAP seems to emerge as largest party but as far formation of government is concerned, it seems doubtful. But they will certainly make a difference to the extent of a hung house .
It seems they will eat out BJP votes, but of late Congress has been weary of his popularity so no one knowns which big party will lose through his popularity, it seems he is like Raj Thakrey of Maharashtra eating out Shiv sena and BJP votes there, I do not think people of India are not so unintelligent to realize this.In Delhi, last assembly election, apart from two major political parties, BSP has 14 percentages of vote share, I think AAP is sounding empty barrel, it is the electione between two major political party and BSP.Surveys are not reflections of society as due to complexity of Indian society it is always impossible to understand the mood of nation. I would neither name nor compare anybody with anyone but yes it is going to be a tough fight for every seat and still no result seems possible.
