Extreme violation of human rights in Pakistan

An innocent Indian citizen Sarabjit singh is in Pak jail for no fault of his own and sentenced to death on mistaken identity. He has been injured by inmates and gone in comma. There is no doubt left that Pakistan has very little regard for international law, human rights and justice.

Honestly one feels so angry with our politicians who seem to think only about themselves ! Had Sarabjit been an American citizen, would that country have left him to suffer like this? they probably would have blasted their way into the prison like they did when they terminated Osama !

But then that is America where human life is valued as precious, in India human life is worse than animals especially if that particular life does not belong to powerful, rich and political class or have celebrity status! So commoners like Sarabjit are anyway expected to languish and perhaps die in vain!

It is such a pitiable situation, the poor fellow has been butchered by those pakistani barbarians and we sit here and twiddle our thumbs.Honestly, would they have done this if he were a relative or a son of a politician, like Rahul Gandhi ? They would have probably bombarded the entire nation...

Yes this is truth!

We people don't care for poor and those having no power. It is expected by Pakistan that they won't do any thing good to Sarabjit but its India's duty how to bring that fellow to home as it seams they are teasing us and look what a shame for us we can't do anything for the fellow just can see him dying every moment.

I always doubt where human right activists go when there is something wrong with us and there is lots of noise all around the world when something happens in US/UK.

Look it became an international news when there were bomb blasts in US and no one may be knowing that bomb blast are so much common in India.

`India and Pakistan should realize that their futile score settling and tit for tat politics is harming ordinary people on both sides. Many hapless victims are languishing in each other's jails. Both the countries are guilty of 'lack of humanity.'

But I don't think India will behave so cruelly with people from across the border in our jails. India has always been a sober country and that is why we are suffering now.

May be a variation of degree in cruelty. But it is there. Staying away from the families for no reason is a punishment for no fault of these hapless people.

Yes, these people are really hapless and helpless. India has totally failed in the Sarabjit Singh case. Too too poor...

According to today's news, India has requested Pakistan to allow Sarabjit for better medical treatment in India. But I'm sure, our requests will fall certainly fall on deaf ears.

Reportedly, Sarvajit is already dead- brain dead. He is 'alive clinically' on so called life support system.

we do not deserve a better deal from our neighbors unless we act our strength. On the one hand you have all kind of infighting and corruption and almost behaving as there is no government in this country and on the other hand willing to take an honorable behavior from enemies like China and pakistan. Are we living in Fool's paradise?

I was going to mention that point, but you also mentioned that. So, it's fine. That is true that the speeches are written by someone else. But I have seen some leaders who give a speech without having a script. Yes, only main points are enough at times.

It makes your blood boil when you see the poor old mother sobbing helplessly while our politicians give speeches about how they are asking pakistan to look into the matter, this after 20 years !

Our politicians can give only speeches they cannot do anything. They even give speeches just to get votes from the public otherwise they won't give speeches also.

Our Netas and speeches go hand in hand, thats one thing they are good at ! I sometimes wish Pakistan catches holds of a few of them and put them in their prison, will teach them a good lesson and know what common people go through !

Even their speeches are written by their speech writers. They don't have a mind and thinking of their own. It will be geedy on our part to to expect a sympathetic attitude towards the woes of the common man.

AS long as the speech ideas are of the speaker, it makes no difference whether he gets help from others. In fact, even parliamentary proceedings, legal drafting,l all procedure is actually work of bureaucrats. The leaders only give policy hint.
But I may add that this a diversion from the theme of brutality in Pakistan.

Yes, it is a bit going off topic. But then after all it is a forum and it is very likely that a new topic comes up while discussing.
Sadly Sarabjit is no more. He died of cardiac arrest in the Lahore Hospital. May his soul rest in peace.

Naturally some new topics and even idea for articles emerge from forum discussion. But diversion from main issue should not be too much. If necessary, the new topic can be discussed in new thread.
