I was playing many outdoor games in my school days when there was no mobiles, laptops, satellite channels. On those days very few houses had Television sets (Only Doordarshan). 99% of telephones are there in government offices only. Cricket was not much famous.

We were playing most of the games like kabadi and other games are region and weather specific. We have come put of tradition, culture, festivals, sports which are related with us. Let us try to recollect them and handover to the upcoming generation.

I even played this game when am a kid. But i played it as indoor game.

It can be played both indoor and outdoor. If you are playing single, you can play indoor. If team, it should be outdoor. While it revolves, it gives me immense pleasure.

I too like this game. This is a popular game in my childhood days and my friends are experts in this. They will take the revolving bambaram in their hand.

The feel the pambaram it gives while it revolves on hands is unimaginable. It can't be expressed in words. It can be felt only by experiance.
Robert, I always played alone or with my brother. So we never go out for playing. So whatever we play we play at home only :)

Playing outdoor game is good for health. Comparing to indoor games, Children should be encouraged to play outdor games.
Now a days town having no open place to play outdoor games even in houses and at school. At our school we used to play on the roads. So As i don;t like ti at all so I used to escape from the outdoor games.
But playing outdoor games is very good for health as it is a best body exercise

Cricket is the only outdoor game for most of the children. Kids play games on video games, Play stations, Mobiles and Systems which causes obesity, stress etc.
Yes, cricket is an outdoor which most of the children play. The Indoor games creates problems like obesity as you said. and out door games gives good physical exercise but some kids play more than their limit and they could not study after the game. So they feel like taking rest. So children should be made to play for some time only

I do not know why people concentrate only on the sport 'Cricket'. No one cares about other sports like hockey, Kabadi, Foot ball, basket ball, etc.
Now a days in TV or else I would not find the game kho-kho.Its very rarely played.

Sharmistha,

In my school days, We boys used to play 'Kabadi'. Girls used to play Kho-Kho. I think these are not played now-a-days in schools. But I am not sure.
You are right now in schools they indulge children in some other activities like swimming, badminton, karate etc.really missing those childhood days.
