Nowadays people are seeing films as another name of glamour and fashion. That's why heroines are doing anything they can do onscreen, to sustain in this industry.  Yet, I have a question, is it not possible for a heroine to establish in this industry if she is not willing to wear short skirts and tops?????
I am asking this question seeing the latest reforms in Malayalam industry with the rise of this new decade.   I have seen all heroines giving great interviews to magazines. Yet now, they are giving more emphasize to their style, fashion and make up rather than acting. Their dresses are becoming more short.  If it's for a Tamil or another language movie, no need to say more.
Do you also believe so???? A heroine means only that?????

Ordinary people don't surf net to read reviews.
Normally, Malayalam movies are suited for family audience. so....
But they show it in newspaper and on TV no need to surf net for it.Moreover the story of the film itself gives us the hint about the movie.
My brother and family has also gone without any knowledge. Isn't it?
I have read its review in many sites. But never read anywhere about such bad hinds.
Actually, reviews of that movie are very good, perhaps the best film released this year :)
Yes it is necessary for heroines to look beautiful and glamorous. Otherwise films are no more a medium of entertainment. We often look for handsome and strong physic heros. It is the looks which lifts the film up, to the extent of 50%. Rest depends on script and their acting talent.

Yes, heroines should look good on the silver screen. But does it mean, only short skirts can bring them glamour????????
Film Industry is another part of fashion. To stay longer in this industry one needs to be glamour. And our actor and actress maintain their glamour.
But unlike heroes they are rejected at certain age.
Heroes like Dharmedra acted in many films as a hero when he became too old but I doubt if anyone would accept a heroine in the film of the same age.
I think good looks is not a major factor for heroes....but very important for a heroine to step into film field. Yet, her hard work can make it sustain.....not glamour factor only
Yes I have seen this factor even in beauty contests also. Beauty is mostly ignored but intelligence and other criteria is given more importance. They want the best to compete in international platform. This can be possible if candidate is intelectually beautiful. ;)
Some of the most respected and talented actresses have all been average looking but with that special something that made them stand apart and make the audience take note of them , this trend started in the seventies wit the new wave cinema which was liked by the masses since they were most realistic ....Shabana Azzmi,Smitha Patil,Deepti Naval, jaya bhaduri were all very average lookers ..
