Hospital performs essential service. There should be total restriction on strike by Hospital employees.
But if their rights denied, why can't they go for a strike?
A few months back, w had a nurse strike because they were the most exploited section of the society. Many hospitals don't even pay them money. Now, rules are made strict and minimum salaries are fixed.
Very often TVM medical college doctors go on strike for salary hike. It is very pity to see many patients not getting medical help due to such strikes.

Work is social responsibility. This is especially so in utility and essential services. There may be grievances but there is no justification in depriving people of basic amenities. There are alternative methods of dealing with grievances.

1-2 years before such a strike of doctors of Medical college lasted for more than one month or so. Can you believe???????
Health minister solved it nicely. She agreed to increase the salary of doctors. But abolished private practice for ever. She said, you can do private practice, but after giving resignation!!!!!!
But nurse strikes....it was really justifiable and they get at least minimum salaries now

Means should be as good as the ends! Exploiting the helplessness of suffering humanity, can not and should not be regarded as a good means to achieve one's ends!
Some time back in Bangalore there was a strike called by the entire state government hospital staff including doctors and it was really sad to see people suffer and so many deaths because of lac of facilities and nursing care. However, after 4 or 5 days the state government hired some temporary staff and managed somehow...
I too feel that when they have issues, they must go on a token strike, by taking turns so that people dont suffer..

According to Indian constitution, any person can respond and express his views!!!! So, they can strike.
Constitution does not only give rights but also enforces duties. People have their right for uninterrupted essential services and the strike by hospital staff deprives people of their rights. Hence Govt have power to ban strike.
