Law is same for all. We have to distinguish between common law that applies equally to all and personal law that is peculiar to a community. In national matters, there must be common law applicable to all. In family matters, the families can regulate their affairs as they like. Similarly, in matter of inheritance of property, marriage, divorce, law for Hindus, Muslims, Christians and some other communities, all have distinct personal law. This is necessary to allow each community to live according to peculiar way of living.

I think that the rules of Hindu Undivided family are relevant to division of property in Hindu community. Male members have more rights. The women leave the HUF and join their in laws.

I didn't got what HUF means?

As per my knowledge,Girls do have rights, that if Girl ask for the Property,Parents can't refuse it.

HUF means Hindu Undivided family. Property may be ancestral, earned by husbad or by woman herself. These are legal issues. each case is decided on peculiar facts. However, it will suffice to remember that girls are considered 'Paraya dhan' viz. others property and they ultimately go to In laws.

If girls take share, the dowry is also unlawful. There is lot of difference between what happens and what is law.
