Blogger update:Blogspot.com is opening as blogspot.in why this is happening?

This is really a amazing thing might be that .com is on sale purpose.

one day ago my blog was opening as blogspot.com but today its opening as blogspot.in

Is there anything to worry about it because of the .in thing?? I doubt you should worry about it, .in just suggests that your blog site is India based!

This update I am seeing today I think blogger doing some mapping activity for all blogs.

I tried others members blog all blogs from blogger is opening in .in so no need to worry for me only.

Kalyani is right there is nothing to worry about if you are write on topics that mostly is targeted to Indian audience. You may notice a slight drop in traffic views if you focus on topics popular in the United states as google.com and google.co.in rank data varies.

Google is just tightening up it's local SEO. A .in extension is got to have a lot of relevance when people are searching for say "Best restaurants in Mumbai"

Now google can determine whether the person who is writing is in India or US. And initially it will give preference to the local result and if you article is really good, it will stay there.

Indians should expect a lot of updates by Google in India, as google has launched a indiagetonline.in campaign in partnership with Hostgator where they are offering a free .in domain name and 1 year free hosting to small businesses to get them online. Link: http://www.indiagetonline.in/

Google really wants to tap the indian market now and anyone looking to make money online should jump on this opportunity right now as I can see competition getting more stiff from here.

yes,Santosh even if we open a home page of Google with google.com it quickly changes and shows the URl google.co.in

Ronark sorry but have to disagree you on this.

You can always select the type of search engine you want. I know when you start it will always be redirected to google india as your ip is from India. But there is an option at the right lower corner which says "go to Google.com".
So it is kind of an opt-in, opt-out feature and is controlled by you.

But the change from blogspot.com to blogspot.in is not an opt-in, opt-out feature. This change is mandatory. Also it will impact bloggers whose content focus is not on Indian users. People in the united states would be less likely to click your link from search engine if it has a .in extension in it, also google will less likely show them in their .com search result.

This move is just a first small step from Google to dominate the Indian market. Heard of the "India Get Online Movement", google is running a very aggressive campaign and even offering free adwords voucher.
