It is not harmful it is beneficial only. We can correct our faults if we accept it.
Most people take this as some thing accepting their sins and crimes in a court of law.
It is only those people who are basically insecure do that ! If you are confident of yourself, you also realise that you can make mistakes and should be able to accept and correct it as and when it happens...
