Government is planning to increase petrol price.

I think the government is going to increase 75paise/liter. I read the news at yahoo.

The idea behind green cess is very good and innovative. The polluters must be made to pay more for their acts!

the difference in prices in these countries baffles me...nepal and bangladesh ..our neighbors..they provide petrol at almost 1/3rd cost in india.

The raise will continue till rupee continues to weaken against Dollar.

When the government decided to free the prices of petro product from its control it promised that market forces would decide the price but what pains me is that the benefits of lower international price has not been passed on to us too often while the government has taken every chance to hike it on the plea of higher international price!!

Petrol is the most usefull one next to diesel so they are going on increasing its price.

Price rise of Crude oils in international market is one of the main reason behind petrol hike. Now-a-days, price rises are decided by oil company. Hence when there is a price rise in international market then the prices of fuels in Indian markets get hiked...!

This will make situation worst for all of us. Increase in price of petrol by Rs.2 is not concentrated to that level only. It effects all other elements. Price of each and everything would increase maybe by Rs.20 .

Today rupee has made a record low against US dollar and it's going complicate things further!
