The daily stats of internet users is increasing in India but the good point is that the volume of users in the rural areas are also increasing with it. As far as internet technology is concerned I do feel that it is still one step behind than other countries....!
The speed of internet is according to cost of the connection rajani.
See there is a internet network connection which cost alot that is sifi. It is having a good speed
Sarala if you had research the speed of Internet connection in other countries you will also say that we are still no where near to them. I agree that cost does matters but can you surely say that with cost you can get a uninterrupted Internet connection in India.

As far as we compare with other counties the speed of internet and cost spending on internet is more. This will be corrected in future as the number of users are becoming more and competitor are also more.
So, definitely we will see a difference in future..
