We always feel sleepy after eating more- wheat or rice. Our body needs rest for absorbing the food. If you have taken only a small quantity, body will absorb the food easily and so you need no sleep.
rice consists of carbohydrates. after eating the meal flow of blood goes towards the stomach so lack of blood supply towards the brain which tends to sleepy feeling.
Not only rice, If we eat stomach full we feel sleepy because our body want to take rest. that's why we feel sleepy. mostly this will be when we have non vegetarian
