Lokpal Bill sound death knell for CBI and CVC

What is there in a name. Shakespeare said.

But this makes a lot to popular movements. Just close CVC and CBI. Reorganize them and give a new name- LOK PAL.

Is it not a novel idea. Same people in new organization will do what they could not do earlier.

    There are many organizations which need change and i agree with the idea of combining into one whatever be their role.

    This is a matter of administrative reform and efficiency. Very large organization may not be efficient. There should be separate organizations for ministers and politicians, senior officers and lower staff. also the functions of investigation and prosecution cannot be given to same organization.

    Such matters should be decided by experts and not mobs in ram Lila ground.

    Central Bureau of Investigation is presently under Prime Minister. It is proposed to abolish this organization and merge with Lok pal. So Lok pal will be just a new name for CBI. Just there may be some change in power, authority etc.

    CVC or central vigilance commission deals with lower bureaucracy. If Lower bureaucracy also come under Lok pal, as desired by team Anna, this organization will also be abolished and merged with Lok pal.

    Ultimately, there will be same staff with new name. Lok Pal is nothing but complaint mechanism. Most corruption is consensual and so no one complains. In absence of complaints, Lok Pal will be useless.
