The social perception about men and women is discriminating. Traditionally, men are considered superior and so nobody will marry a woman more educated or earning more. Traditionally, domestic job is women's. The rule for chastity differ. Nobody mind a man's relation with a woman. But a woman is considered unchaste and stigmatized for the same act.

Women have to go ahead and fight for their rights of equality. Recently slut walk or Besharmi morcha was a good step.

Certainly, Yes. In India there still exist gender bias.
why so in india women has to fight for each of her rights . its very bad part of our indiasism that girls to have to face so much fights and difficulties to go high.
In many under developed cities in India, women are treated very badly. They should be given equal respect.
If we look into the history of country, we will find that the Indian society has generally male dominated. During the Vedic age, women were given a lot of importance, but as the decades passed by, men started looking down on women and considering them inferior. They are exploited and in some cases they were even denied education.

I think more needs to be done in this area to make them equal to the male half of society. We, you and me needs to do a lot to bring them back to the rightful place in the society.....
