Large scale felling of trees is mainly responsible for loss of quality of our soil.Ramapant use of chemicals too has contributed to this and we have to launch afforestation programmes to tackle this problem.

Use of mainly chemical fertilizers depletes the soil quality greatly. Two days back a report was published for the study conducted in various places in Maharashtra. Frequent use of chemical fertilizers has lead to the soil becoming deficient in phosphorus due to which the crops and fruit trees are very much prone to various diseases. To avoid such instances, it is necessary to use mainly organic methods of farming.
