Yes, I agree that everybody should be included in Lokpal Bill including Prime Minister.
I too agree with you Ravishankar, The Prime Minister should be included in the Lokpal Bill......
The prime minister has to have some free space to take decisions and act upon them Hence it is not necessary to put more pressure on him
I believe that appointing authority should have the authority to take decision in such matters. The Prime Minister and Union Cabinet are appointed by President of India. The Prime minister remains in office till he enjoys majority in parliament. Th ministers continue as long as Prime Minister pleases. Accordingly, the Prime Minister and other ministers should not be under Lok Pal. They are under parliament.

As regards inquiry about corruption and financial irregularities, Comptroller & Auditor General, who is an independent authority and appointed same way as Judge of Supreme court, carries out audit of government accounts and brings to notice of parliament the financial irregularities in all government offices including Prime Minister Office. It is for parliament to decide whether any action is necessary.

Under whom will the lokpal come?

Presently, Parliament, executive and judiciary- three planks of our system come under President, who is nominal head.

Press is considered the fourth estate after legislation (parliament), executive (government) and judiciary (courts).

what will be Lokpal? From where his staff will come? Will his staff be other than I.A.S officers or judges?

Will be the Lokpal above executive, judiciary, legislature and if so is this according to constitution?

More than 90% of our citizens are corrupt. How will Lokpal or his staff not be corrupt?

All this needs careful consideration before serious discussion.

Yes, Gulshanji. This is why corruption is still there. When a law comes all should be equal in front of it.That is my point of view.

Already all are equal before law. As regards corruption, this is way of life. Nobody bothers about this as long he is benefited. Here the question of P.M. being under Lokpal. This cannot be. He is answerable to Parliament and not anyone else.

You are right.HPM is answerable to Parliament. But his corruption also should come under enquiry by such a body.

Lok Pal can never be superior to Parliament. Prime minister is head of the executive, Lok Sabha speaker is head of legislature and Chief Justice is head of judiciary. All these three cannot be subject to Lok Pal.

If you cannot trust P.M, Chief Justice and Lok Sabha speaker, how can you trust Lok Pal. We do not visualize Lok Pal as one one who is Above Government, parliament and judiciary.

Lok Pal is also to be a citizen of India like others and he will get staff only from I.A.S., I.P.S. and other services and even if he gets his own staff later, this will have to be through U.P.S.C. Then will you appoint another 'super lok pal' under whom Lok pal and his subordinates should come.
