Didn't got the question. When it appears black- this means what.
I guess it is because of reflection of ocean

It is black because of the universe.
The actual color is generally based on the components in atmosphere. if smoke is covered in that area you can view it as black otherwise it is blue
It`s because of the scattered light... If you want to know more read it belove link..

when sun raises and falls on the ocean the sky looks blue once the sun sets it turns black
Sky appears blue due to the dispersion of blue colour in white light.

When sun is gone everything is black or invisible. Color of dark is black. So sky is black by night and blue by day. There is nothing like actual color. Color is what appears.
It is because the sky scatters short wavelengths and as the blue colour have shorter wavelengths ,it appears blue.
The sky appears blue because during the day when light from the sum travels through different layers of the atmosphere and in a way gets refracted and displaced through the layers before finally reaching into our eyes and thus the sky appear blue to us!!!
It appears blue since the 78% of our planet earth is constituted by the water or rather the ocean. The colour of the ocean is blue and hence the refraction of light leads to the result that the sky appears blue.
The low wavelength blue colour region in white light get scattered more by the atmospheric particles than the red region. That is why sky appears blue. What I told above is incorrect. It is not dispersion but scattering causes blue colour.
the gases which surrounds the earth reflects the blue color to our eyes due to which sky appears to us of blue color rather than black.
