You are right. But most of the smokers think that when they get some distance away from the crowd they are private.Private means a place where they own and not used by others. Will one smoke in only such a place?

We cannot have short sighted vision of what is private. If there are only smokers at a place and others are absent or too few, it is no use quarreling with them. I have seen people drinking and smoking even in Govt. offices after close of office hours when there is no public around. We have to be pragmatic and cannot make an issue. If most of people around are non smokers, nobody should smoke.

But what we see today is a wrong practice. When there is no one for some minuts a public place becomes a private place!

This is true but we cannot help. When there are more people of a kind, they will definitely dominate. We may request or even force some smoker, but when they are in majority and adamant, it may not be worthwhile to pick up quarrel.

Government can only stop such acts. No other organisation can stop this.

Government have already done their job and we may not expect more. Smoking in public places is banned. It is not possible to restrict anyone at his private place. Smoker's family can interfere at home.

Yes, Government has banned smoking in public places but one can smoke in private places if their family permits them to do so but it would be advisable for the family members ask the person to quit smoking if not for himself then at least for the family...

I agree. Families have a greater role in cultivating good habits and discouraging the bad ones. Many individuals in fact do not smoke in presence of non smokers. Even inside their home, they move to a seperate room or corner and return after smoking a cigarette. Everyone now realizes the harm of smoking but it is not so easy to quit. It is even then heartening that smokers care about others- colleagues, friends and family.

I think it should be ban at public places and working place . Govt should allow only at home.
