Electric crematorium is intended to save environment by saving trees used in burning human corpses. But very few use the electric crematorium. The orthodox religious views support burning by wood. It is also argued that the material used in burning the corpses purifies the environment far from polluting.
I am not able to say an opinion on these.We , Muslims bury the corps.
Muslims do not burn but bury corpses. But Hindus burn these. For disposal of bodies by burning, either wood or electric crematorium may be used. We have to cut trees for burning with wood. We need to save trees and save environment and the rivers from pollution. Pollution of rivers affects all irrespective of their being Hindus, Muslim or Christian. Hence, electric crematorium should be preferred and encouraged. It is all right for Muslims and Christians to bury their dead but they should also encourage Hindus to use electric crematorium instead of wood.
