What is difference between quick reply and reply topics in forum reply?

I am first time using 'reply topic'. I have been giving 'quick reply' s far. The 'quick' reply has lsess scope for formatting and using Emoticns. There does not appear much difference as the reply will be same whatever mode is selected.

Quick reply is to only add plain text.
With reply topic, you can make your text more lively with emoticons or images. The format of the text, that is color/ font/ highlight etc. can be changed in a detailed manner using the 'Reply' option.

Quick reply is to add the reply without reloading a new page. Except that there is no difference. All functionality available as they are on normal reply, only thing is you need to type them. for example to get bold text, in normal reply when you use bold button, it will add some code, the same code you can type in quick reply.

I think there is one more thing.When "Quick reply" is given you will not get mail about the replies posted on that discussion.But in reply topic unless you unchecked the "subscribe" check box you will get all replies in your mail box.Am I right?

I am sure there is some bug there if your view is correct. You should get the mail in whatever the way you post.

Today I have posted 90% of replies in quick reply.So my mail box is safe!!!!Here I sees a lot of replies came in various discussions.
So one more bug news came from me !!!

For both modes of replies I gets the same points - 2.But quick reply saves my mail inbox space and hence my time also.
