link between yoga, which is between decreased anxiety and increased GABA (brain gamma-aminobutyric) levels.
Low GABA levels are associated with depression and other widespread anxiety disorders

I am generally in good mood and do not perform yoga. Many do not perform yoga and they lead good life. What you need is simply to realize your own potential and nourish only reasonable expectations from self and others. This will keep you serene and calm.
I have a friend who is very fond of Yoga. Whatever problem you tell him, Yoga is his answer. Somebody told him of his financial and family crisis. He just suggested some Yogic exercise. This could obviously not benefit.
The key to managing mood is just taking proper rest, assuming reasonable responsibility and have only reasonable expectations so as to avoid frustration.
